The Mighty Victoria Falls on the Zambian side

Shalom and warm greetings from Zambia, the real Africa. God has been wonderful to us and we are happy to share His goodness with all of you. We are eternally grateful for your prayers and support.
Thank you for  taking the time to read our newsletter.
Exo 18:11  Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods….
In Africa Islam is on the decrease.

Africa is home to about 1 billion people.
  • According to the Congressional Research Service, Africa had, as of May 9th 2009, 371,459,142 Muslims, 304,313,880 Christians, and 137,842,507 who practiced indigenous religions.
  • According to the recent World Religion Database, 48 percent of Africa’s 1 billion inhabitants are now Christian (495.8 million); 41 percent are Muslim (423.5 million) and 11 percent belong to native religions.
  • In four short years Bible believers have now outnumbered Muslims by 72.3 million.  Because of this, Muslims in some countries, have become violent and are attacking Christians and potential converts.
  • Among the African countries, 31 have Christian majorities, 21 have Muslim majorities, and six have populations which adhere mostly to traditional African religions.
  • In every hour, 667 Muslims convert to Christianity. Everyday, 16,000 Muslims convert to Christianity. Every year, 6 million Muslims convert to Christianity.
  • There are many reports of Muslims having visions of Yeshua and coming to faith.

Who says that our God is asleep? He is awake and well!!

  • Plea to consider Africa missions
    • What Africa needs the most is the Gospel and not the money.
    • Values of hard work, creativity and innovation always come with the Gospel.
    • In 1900 Christians in Africa totaled ten million people.
    • In 2012 this number reached almost five hundred million.
    • In ten years time, it is projected that Africa will be the largest continental bloc within Christianity, outdoing Europe and the Americas.
    • There are now more practicing Christians in Africa than in Europe.
    • Some Islamic ultra-fundamentalists consider it scandalous that there are more Christians than Muslims in Africa and  have proceeded to persecute and kill Christians in countries such as Nigeria, Mali, Somalia and Kenya.
    • The statistics from the World Christian Encyclopedia (David Barrett)  says most of the 552,000 congregations in 11,500 denominations throughout Africa in 1995 are completely unknown in the West.
    • Much of the Christian growth in Africa is now due to African evangelism rather than European missionaries.
    • Today, 20 percent of the world’s Christians now live south of the Sahara Desert.
    • The Lord is moving in this poverty stricken, disease ridden land of Africa.
    • We invite you to partner with us and others laboring in this backward and conflict torn continent.
    • Africa needs the love of God.
    • “To the loved, a word of affection is a small piece of bread, but to the love-starved, a word of affection can be a feast.”- Max Lucado

We at the Zambia Messianic Fellowship are sharing the Word of our God until all have heard.

CONGREGATIONS

Alex sharing the word of God in Lusaka

We hosted a two day leaders gathering where most all the congregational leaders from Zambia attended. It went smoothly.  It was a time of seeking God, rededication, fellowship, prayer, learning, encouragement, sharing testimonies, laughter and growing closer to family. Join us in praying for more workers and effective leadership.

The two day leadership gathering was a great success.
Three members of one family from our Chainda congregation escaped death with serious injuries when they were involved in an auto accident. Their father is the leader of the Chainda congregation. One had both her legs broken. Please do join us in praying for their complete healing.

Prayer Answered

In our September newsletter we asked if you could join us in praying for the granting of the occupancy certificate for our new orphanage. Two long years have passed from the time we applied and we have met obstacle after obstacle, corruption, inefficiency and government red tape. I am glad to report that on November 9th the City council granted us the occupancy certificate.

We ask that you join us if you may in praying for the remaining license from the government authorizing us to begin boarding the orphans. In Zambia orphans are regarded as government property and you need a special license.  We also ask you to pray for guidance on how we are to go about financing the day to day operations.  We had partnered with an organization who has, unfortunately, had to rescind their plans with us.
