Zambian Children are among the most undernourished in the world.

Zambia is one of the poorest countries in the world and is home to 6 million children under the age of 18 of which 4 million children are of the primary school age (7-14). Over a quarter million Zambian children are out of school and 47 of those enrolled in school do not complete the primary cycle.

Education is not only a human right, but it is also an essential tool for individuals to break the poverty cycle and to building the human capital of nations. The Jerome Fleischer School for orphans is in the forefront in fighting the cycle of poverty through education and Biblical values by touching and changing one life at a time.

Over 50% of Zambian children are malnourished and don’t have access to clean water.

  • There are about 50 million orphans in Africa.
  • Zambia has about 14,075,100 people
  • Only about 600,000 Zambians are in formal employment.
  • Between 64 – 69 of Zambians live on less than $1.25 per day.
  • Of the 54 African countries, Zambia has the second highest number of orphans beating only Zimbabwe.
  • Zambia has about 1.5 million orphans.
  • Over half of Zambian children are malnourished
  • The Zambian population of children aged 0-17 years is about 6,638, 301 and of these children 13.0 percent are orphans.
  • At provincial level, Lusaka Province has the highest number of orphans followed by Copper-Belt Province.
  • Of the 2,513,768 households in Zambia, 4,636 are headed by children (aged 12-17 years).
  • Many orphaned girls opt for early marriage to survive and many orphaned boys end up as child laborers.

Help bring hope by partnering with the Jerome Fleischer School.

The Jerome Fleischer School and Feeding Program

A place of hope, restoration, transformation, growth & joy.

It is a place where orphans find hope, transformation, growth, food, school, love, and biblical education. It is a place where young lives affected by tragedy and disease find wholeness and comfort. It a place where the abandoned find love and acceptance. The school used to meet in an old garage before moving on to the new location. The school is non-profit and all services rendered to the children are free. This keeps them in a safe, supportive environment in the day…no matter what the difficulties they face each night. Donations and volunteers are welcome!  The best way you can help is to become a sponsor and join our “Adopt a Child Program”.  We have yet to have every child sponsored through your commitment of keeping this child in prayer, sending $30 a month, and corresponding. When donating for this purpose, please write in your memo: ZMF: Day School.

Graciousness Extended Project

Keeping up with those who have passed through our care

Occasionally we have the opportunity to extend graciousness to children that have special needs and or have graduated from the 7th grade. The special needs children associated with our ministry are not eligible to be in our school and thus do not have sponsors. Some of the children who have graduated from the 7th grade no longer are given a meal or assistance to go on further with their education. We have developed a new program to help care for these children who do not fall under our school and feeding program. Sponsorship is $45 per child/ Month for those in grade grades 8- 12.

When donating for this purpose, please write in the memo: ZMF: Graciousness Extended.
