Shalom and blessings.

A word from Rabbi Alex Yalenga

There are things you fix by doing the right thing with them. Those carry your soul high.

There are things you fix by not doing the wrong thing with them. Those carry your soul higher than high.

There are things you fix up because you did the wrong thing with them, and then you regretted that with all your heart and you turned your life around. Those carry your soul high beyond imagination.

Have a blessed day

Zimbabwe

Praying over Jewish Lemba leaders.

Jewish Voice Ministries International has asked us to partner with them in conducting a Medical outreach among the Lemba Jews of Zambia. The government of Zambia has  so far given their approval and between 10,000 to 15,000 people will be reached with this free medical outreach which will also involve the distribution of water filters to poor families and communities.

Please do pray that God  alone will be honored  in this effort.

Congregations

Welcoming baby Hazak into our congregation.

Our Shabbat school children performing a dance.

We have over 10 children having their Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah coming up, we are so excited.

The Rufunsa congregation has finally moved into their own congregational building after meeting under trees for a number of years.

We at ZMF welcome on our staff Ishmael a Lemba Jew who is the author of the book “A Remnant of Israel- The Lemba”.

Ishmael is our new book keeper and will also help spear head our missions to the Lemba Jews of Zambia.

The congregations are doing well with the exception of four that are undergoing various challenges like persecution and some are undergoing leadership crisis.

The Chainda congregation will be changing location due to persecution from landowners. The Lord was gracious and gave us a much bigger location and a water well has since been drilled and installed.

Please do pray that The Great God of Israel will intervene and bless these humble congregations.

Lemba Jewish outreach

Met government officials in our quest to locate and help more Lemba Jews.

For I am not ashamed of the Good News, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who trusts—to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Rom 1:16

There are about 80,000 Lemba Jews in Southern Africa. Most of the African black Jews known as the Lemba are found in Zimbabwe, northern South Africa and western Mozambique. Some Lemba Jews moved to Zambia and the Lord has enabled us to reach out to them. Pray that we will plant a congregation and help these lost sheep of Israel to not only embrace their Jewish Messiah but hold on to their Jewish heritage.

Missions

We are excited this year to again have the honor to be receiving  Rabbi Jay Ledbetter and Rabbitzin Pam Ledbetter from Roeh Israel (Denver).

We will also be blessed to welcome one of the giants of the Messianic Faith Rabbi Judah Hungerman in August.

Please do pray for all teams and individuals coming to Zambia, that they will be mightly used by HaShem and that they will be blessed in return for their faithfulness.

The Day School

I am happy to report that The Great God of Israel recently enabled us through our friends and family at Congregation 268 in Idaho to purchase a School for our day school children.

For the last 17 years we have been renting different dilapidated buildings for the day school children.

Every year we kept praying and hoping for a building of our own and the Merciful God has just given us our own school!! No more paying exorbitant rentals! We are so excited, grateful, awed and filled with great honor for our God. Indeed, He is the Father to the fatherless.

The building is in bad shape but we have already started working on it. We also have drilled a water well at the new school location. Hallelujah!

Besides excelling with a 100{f867ed0a5269d3ff73e3962581c489613d212587fec1849d90b46f9dafc0d2f4} pass rate in the annual Zambian government examinations, our school has continued in being leader in academics in our school district and Zone. The school zone consists of 47 government and private schools. We have about 166 children at the day school.

We recorded another impressive performance with many of our seventh graders making it to eighth grade in the government national examinations.

Thank you to all the wonderful sponsors who have brought hope, life and the gospel to these sweet little people.

On a sad note one of our seven-year-old orphan was gang rapped on her way to the day school and abducted. No one so far has been arrested for this heinous crime. Please do pray for this little sweet girl who has since been discharged from hospital and has been undergoing counselling.

The Home

The children at the orphanage home have the privilege of attending our weekly worship services and many of them are doing very well at school. The teachers at the day school are helping those who are still struggling in school.

Other News

Our Shalom Zambia radio outreach has continued to make inroads into the Zambian nation.

Scholarships – Graciousness Extended:

Upon graduation from the Day School, each child takes a required exam, to determine whether they will be selected to go further in school.  They will be able to attend a higher school if their scores are high enough and positions are available.  The great news is that our Day School students consistently get the highest scores in the exams, and almost all are selected to move to the higher levels.  The sad news is that these schools are not free.

Those schools have fees which must be paid before the child is permitted to enroll. In Zambia, these schools start in January and end in December, and the cost is $360/year for one child.    You can help these children break through the cycle of poverty, and continue their education in grades 8- 12.  A scholarship for all 5 years of their high school education would be $1,800.00.

We believe that these children are the future leaders of Zambia, and as godly men and women, they will turn this nation around.  So, you see why we are so eager to see each child go on into the upper levels.

Please consider sponsoring a child for a year of upper education at $360 per year.  Of course, we rejoice to receive all gifts of any amount, so we can make as many scholarships available as possible. ”

The Yalenga family.

Thank you to all who support our family through prayer and financial means.

We are now all doing well. Fay had a miscarriage last year and was in hospital twice  and had surgery on her knee. She is recovering very well. Thank you for the prayers.

Eliana will be celebrating her Bat Mitzvah this June and she is working hard at it.

The girls are all in school and as a family we have been growing lots of vegetables and sharing them with the orphans.

Our family project of growing vegetables is paying off.
